Preparing for the Impending Hurricane Season

Hurricane Preparedness Week, Flooding, Storm Surge, Forecasts, Prepare

This week, May 26-June 1, is National Hurricane Preparedness Week.  The National Hurricane Center has released a week’s worth of PSAs outlining several important aspects when preparing for a hurricane.  They can be viewed here.

NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, is predicting an extremely active hurricane season this year.  Hurricane season starts on June 1st and lasts for six months.  For more information on how to prepare, watch NOAA’s Hurricane Survival video.

As many homeowners have discovered, raising your house is one of the best ways to prepare your home for the next hurricane.  There are several house-raising options, but when space is an issue and moving your home off of your property is not possible, Danbro offers a variety of helical products  for all of your house-raising and house-saving needs.

If you got water in your house during Superstorm Sandy, you are susceptible to flooding again.  While a hassle now, raising your home could help save you money and time down the road.  Your raised home will be one less thing to worry about when the next hurricane or severe flooding rolls in – instead you will be able to concentrate on the things that matter most – you and your family’s safety.
