An inter-city structure had been demolished, and the site was being repurposed to build a Canopy for an exhibit area. Micro-Piles were originally specified but the Engineer and GC (Intech), decided to value engineer the project due to suspect soil conditions and potential issues with subsurface obstructions.

- Challenge/Unique Aspect: The soil borings and a field report confirmed that a prior structure had been demoed, but the site had not been properly remediated. Helicals were used as a cost-saving alternative to micro-piles and to navigate the trash and fight through sub-surface debris.
