A pump house was built on fill as the plumber said “It wouldn’t be a big deal.” The pump house sank four inches in three months. While the rest of the site was still being excavated and work continuing, a solution was needed without interrupting other trades. Northeast Foundation and Concrete provided the helical solution in a timely manner.
Project Summary:
- Helical Pile Type: 2875″.203
- # of Helical Piles: 6
- Location: Denver, PA
- Installation Depth: 15′
- Equipment Used: Excavator, 12 K Drive Head, and Marian Torque Indicator
- Challenge/Unique Aspect: In lieu of concrete underpinning or drilling mini piles with a percussion drilling system, the helicals provided a spoil free, quick install and kept other equipment (concrete trucks/large trailers or compressors) off the job that would get in the way of other trades. The pump house was underpinned and lifted and leveled to original height in 5 hours with the helical pile system.
