The city of Cape May, in combination with the local Board of Education, joined to create an above grade nature trail/walkway giving access to students, citizens and visitors to create a meandering boardwalk through pristine wetlands to observe and commune with nature. Helicals with concrete footers supported the walkway and four observation areas 8′ to 9′ above grade. The concrete together with the 2 7/8″ helicals was less expensive than bumping up to 3 1/2″ piles.
