Helical piers are an excellent method to replace or repair a failing concrete slab due to the mitigation or elimination of access and mobilization issues. Small equipment, even a portable hand-held device, can be used indoors in tight spaces. 3′ or 5′ helical leads or extensions can be utilized to deal with restricted overhead.
Demo the slab and install helicals 5′ on center, add rebar and concrete, and you have a new structural slab supported on a deep foundation, bypassing the failure plane into competent, load-bearing soils.
If the damage is limited, you can core the existing slab and terminate the helical piles using the patented Slab Stabilization Bracket to stabilize and secure the failing section.
